Event Description:
The Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission will open its Art @ the Andersen 2012 Fall Show with an exhibit featuring works by members of the Saginaw Area Watermedia Artists (SAWA). The show will be on display from October 9 through October 18 at the Andersen Enrichment Center in Saginaw’s Celebration Square, 120 Ezra Rust Drive. The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Tuesday, October 9 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Exhibit hours are
9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Exhibit and reception are both FREE to the public.
This year’s show, Doorways/Windows on the World, will highlight the works of 20 Mid-Michigan SAWA member artists. The more than 60 pieces on display will feature imaginative interpretations, in both watercolor and acrylic, of each artist’s unique view of the world through a doorway or window or an opening of their mind to a new way of viewing their surroundings. The Art @ the Andersen exhibition is a great opportunity for art lovers and the general public to connect with the creativity of the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The Saginaw Area Watermedia Artists is a non-profit organization, which works to promote the fine art of painting in mediums of watercolor and acrylics. To support art education in the schools, each year SAWA gives a community award to an area school. The award is used for the purchase of much needed art supplies.
Art @ the Andersen is made possible with the support of the Maxwell K. Pribil Memorial Fund administered by Citizens Bank Wealth Management and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. This project has been established by the Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission to give artists in the Great Lakes Bay Region an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work. For more information call the Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission at 989.759.1363.
